The Kolhapur WordPress Community has reached another proud milestone. On September 13, 2025, we officially hosted our very first WordPress Campus Connect event — making Kolhapur the first city in Maharashtra and the third in India to bring this initiative to life.
This is not just an event for us, but the beginning of a roadmap that connects students, local WordCamps, and eventually the flagship event — WordCamp Asia 2026.
Why Campus Connect?
Our vision has always been clear: to grow the community by involving students early in their journey. Through Campus Connect, we aim to:
- Nurture young talent by teaching them the foundations of WordPress.
- Introduce them to open-source values and the global WordPress community.
- Build a culture of collaboration where students can learn, experiment, and contribute.
This structured approach ensures that students don’t just attend one workshop and stop there. Instead, they are guided step by step into the wider ecosystem.
The Roadmap: From Local to Flagship
- Campus Connect Kolhapur 2025 (First Step): Students get their first hands-on experience with WordPress and community activities.
- WordCamp Kolhapur 2026 (Next Step): They will join our upcoming local WordCamp, meet seasoned contributors, and gain wider exposure.
- WordCamp Asia 2026 (The Big Stage): With this foundation, many of these fresh faces will confidently step into a flagship WordCamp — learning, contributing, and networking at an international level.
This progression is intentional. We see it as a pipeline to bring new energy and contributors into the global WordPress ecosystem.
